EEA Grants Financial Mechanism allocates funds provided by Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein for the reduction of the economic and social disparities in Europe and for the strengthening of the bilateral relations by the Donor States and the Beneficiary States through support for various sectors among which are culture, civil society, good governance, fundamental rights and freedoms.
During the 2014-2021 period, the Ministry of Culture is the Programme Operator of the funds for culture through the PA14 “Cultural Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Cooperation” Programme with a total budget of 10 000 000 €. The Programme is being realized with the participation of a Programme Partner from the Donor States – Arts Council – Norway.
The Programme will support projects which improve the conditions for representation of artifacts in museum, galleries, libraries and chitalishta (unique Bulgarian community centers) as well as projects which document the cultural history of the social, ethnic and cultural minorities and groups. The improvement of access to culture is also among the aims of the Programme as projects which create new cultural content through the organization of festivals, performances, traveling performances, exhibitions and cultural routes and others.
The funds under the Programme are organized in a number of Outcomes (priorities) and within them Calls for project proposals will be launched:
