Pazardzhik municipality held a final press conference on 21 March 2022 in the Architectural Council Hall at the municipal administration in Pazardzhik. The event presented the results in the implementation of the project “Reconstruction and modernization of part of the street lighting of the city of Pazardzhik” under the “Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Security” Programme of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
The Project Manager, Mr. Rumen Kozhuharov, presented the implemented reconstruction and modernization of the artificial street lighting in line with the modern European requirements.
A presentation was made on the new street lighting boards installed for all substations, street dashboards and cassettes that provide power to the streets within the scope of the project:
- bul. “Georgi Benkovski”
- bul. “Tzar Osvoboditel”
- ul. “Plovdivska”
- ul. “Kocho Chestimenski”
- bul. “Bulgaria”
- ul. “Stefan Stambolov”
- Maritsa River Bridge
- ul. “Tzaritza Ioana”
- part of their adjacent streets in the city of Pazardzhik
The system for central management and monitoring of new lighting bodies as well as the built-in photovoltaic installation for own needs, which further enhances the energy efficiency of the street lighting of the town of Pazardzhik, have also been demonstrated. The photovoltaic plant is located on the top and under the roof of the “Sports Hall – Hebar” public building on 5 Str. “Tzar Osvoboditel”.
The installed capacity of the PV power installation is 15,84 kWh:
- generated power – 11 kW max
- generated voltage – 230 V
- number of gases – 1
- battery holding – 57,6 kWh
The photovoltaic installation works during the day, and in order to be able to supply power to the street lighting it is envisaged that the energy produced at daytime is accumulated in batteries and consumed at night. The conversion of solar energy into electricity is carried out without moving parts, noise, pollution or radiation. The battery charge management is performed automatically by solar controllers.
