Increasing energy efficiency in production processes and optimization of the technologies used through purchasing new equipment, are part of the outcomes of projects implementing energy efficiency measures in the industrial process in Dental equipment factory “VOP” in Botevgrad and in the company “Sibon-Mash” for metal components manufacture in Kazanlak. The projects are funded under the Renewable Energy, Energy efficiency and Energy Security Programme (“REEEES”) of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.

The total value of the energy efficiency activities implemented in “VOP” is BGN 313 355 and in “Sibon-mash” is BGN 298 600, full grants allocated to both enterprises. Increasing the share of RES energy used in the production process is among the successful objectives of the projects. After the completion of the projects, the two companies now have RES installations for their own use and installations for waste heat capture for reuse in the technological process. Energy monitoring systems are put in place as well.

Company managers Nikolay Vasov (“VOP”) and Nayden Atanasov (“Sibon-mash”) expressed their satisfaction with the successful initiatives and thanked the Donor countries for their support.

Kostadin Kostadinov, Project Manager, underlined that due to the investments made, the companies will achieve a sustained reduction in their energy consumption and thus increase their competitiveness. Intentions to build on the energy-efficient measures in place to further promote circular production models are already discussed in both companies.
