Brief description:
The main goal of the project proposal is to improve the capacity and the environment for sustainable waste management on the territory of the municipalities of Kameno and Karnobat through introduction of municipal schemes for separate collection and utilization of waste, for which there are national goals: paper, glass, metal, hazardous household waste, electrical equipment, textiles and biodegradable waste. Project expected results are related to reduction of the waste generated and improvement of the qualities of the living environment in the two municipalities thus contributing to the objectives of the national policies and the Environmental Protection and Climate Change programme of the FM of the EEA. The following specific objectives of the project have been defined:
1) Establishing and functioning of effective and tailored to local specificities municipal schemes for separate waste collection;
2) Increasing quantities of separate collected waste and reducing the risk of depositing;
3) Enhancing active participation of local communities in the process of implementation of policies and models for sustainable waste management.
