General information
The main objective of the project is to increase the share of recycled waste in the total share of generated waste and use it as a resource in Sofia Municipality, by implementing three systems for separate collection and recycling of food waste and end of life tires. The specific objectives of the project are: 1. Identification of specific consumption patterns and trends in waste generation and measures for implementation of a sustainable model for transition of Sofia Municipality to a circular economy. 2 . Development and implementation of 2 schemes for waste collection and recycling on the territory of Sofia Municipality - a system for separate door-to-door collection of food waste from households in Verdikal, Bankya Distric and Simeonovo and Dragalevtsi, Vitosha region District and a system for collecting end of lofe tires. 3. Raising local community awareness of separate collection and recycling 4. Transfer of good waste management practices from Norway 5. Improving skills and competencies of the municipal experts in connection with the application of the principles of the circular economy.
