An online conference for introducing the project "Extension of the communication infrastructure of the Ministry of Interior (MoI)", funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism under the Home Affairs Programme, was held on February 4, 2021.The event was organized by the Project Promoter Information and Communication Systems Directorate-MoI.
The project aims to provide better coverage of the digital radio communication system TETRA standard on the Bulgarian-Greek border and especially in the region of Blagoevgrad district (towns of Bansko and Gotse Delchev) and Smolyan district (town of Dospat). The purchased equipment will provide extension of the radio coverage as well as increase of the traffic channels for voice communication in the area of these regions.
The support from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism contributes to extending the coverage of the integrated digital radio communication system of the Ministry of Interior, which will provide for strengthening the interoperability and coordination of national law enforcement authorities, improving the exchange and protection of information.
The total value of the project is BGN 2,738,120 or EUR 1,400,000, and the implementation period is 24 months until October 2021.
