Domestic and gender-based violence are among the most common crimes worldwide. In order to combat these crimes, the Directorate General of National Police has implemented a risk assessment algorithm since the beginning of the year with protocols attached, based on action taken to ensure the protection of victims of violence. 830 police officers have received professional trainings. The results were reported at the final conference of a project funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
An automated information system has also been developed to collect, store and summarise the specialised information. The data centralisation will provide the opportunity for quick inquiries, adequate assessment and urgent action by police officers when domestic and gender-based violence is reported.
