Training Seminars for DGCOP Officers on Fighting Organized Crime

Officers of the General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime participated in a training seminar aimed at combating illegal production and trade of tobacco products and fuels, as well as tax crimes. Guest speakers from the respected organisations Europol and the South East Europe Law Enforcement Centre (SELEC) discussed opportunities for cooperation and coordination. The discussions focused on the prevention, identification, investigation and prosecution of organised criminal groups committing this type of crime. The exchange of experience and good practices is within the framework of the project: Increasing the capacity of General Directorate “Combating Organized Crime” for more effective investigation of organized and transnational crime, funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. Representatives of the court, the prosecutor's office, the National Revenue Agency and the Customs Agency, among others, participated in the seminar as speakers.
