The National Institute of Justice is organizing hybrid training on „Protection of property under Article 1 of Protocol No 1, ECHR“, which will be conducted in the period 11 – 20 April 2022.
The training is aimed at judges from regional and appellate courts, judicial assistants, lawyers and other legal professionals.
The training format envisions individual work for getting acquainted with the latest practice regarding property rights guarantees (the right to peaceful enjoyment of property according to Article 1 of Protocol No 1, ECHR), forum discussions and online discussion sessions, in which the participants may ask questions to judge Iliana Papazova-Markova from the Supreme Court of Cassation, as trainer. On 20 April 2022 a hybrid discussion will be held, in which one part of the participants will be present in a training hall at the NIJ, while another part will participate via ZOOM. During the discussion, the ECHR decisions against Bulgaria will be reviewed with judge Papazova and a representative of the “Procedural representation of the Republic of Bulgaria before the ECHR“with the Ministry of Justice.
The venue is organized in implementation of Activity 2 „Strengthening the skills and competencies of judges, prosecutors, investigating magistrates and other legal professionals to apply fundamental rights“ under the project „Modern learning environment for judges, prosecutors, investigating magistrates and other legal professionals“. The project is implemented by the National Institute of Justice with the assistance of „Justice” Program of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
