From 2nd to 4th of July in Bansko will be held a training forum within the project ‘Specialized services for children from Roma communities in conflict or contact with the law’. The project was implemented in October 2022 and aims to introduce and develop an effective integrated approach aimed at improving the status and opportunities of children in contact with the law in three Roma communities — Pazardzhik, Plovdiv and Lom.

Representatives of relevant institutions and organizations from Lom, as well as the team of the Centre for Counselling and Legal Assistance to Children, established in April, have been invited to participate.

The aim of the training event is to improve cooperation with local institutions and stakeholders and increase their capacity to work with children in contact with the law.

The beneficiary of the project is the Crime Prevention Fund — IGA, and partners in its implementation are Roma Foundation — Lom, Foundation for Regional Development ‘Roma’ — Plovdiv and Save a child — Norway.

Project ‘Specialized services for children from Roma communities in conflict or contact with the law’, Contract No 93-00-145/12.10.2022, is funded by the Justice Programme of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014—2021. A total of 210 persons are involved: 120 vulnerable children from the three Roma communities, victims or witnesses of crime, and children in conflict with the law up to the age of 18, as well as 90 representatives of Roma informal groups, civil society organisations and Roma mediators working in the target community.
