Today, May 31, 2021, the Programme Operator of "Local development, poverty reduction and enhanced inclusion of vulnerable groups" Programme, funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, announces a procedure for the pre-defined project "Building capacity for educational and social inclusion".
The need for quality education in the fields of early childhood education and care, the youth policies and measures, including non-formal education and the need for well-prepared education mediators targeting Roma communities remain among priority areas of Programme “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups”.
The project "Building capacity for educational and social inclusion" will transfer the expertise and knowledge of the Council of Europe and the leading Bulgarian experts to the relevant participants in the various projects funded by Programme “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups" in order to enable them to provide better services aimed at effective, inclusive and active participation of specific activities under individual projects, in accordance with existing European standards and approaches. Another contribution will be the development of an electronic platform designed to become a knowledge center for inclusive education.
The main target group that will be included in the project is:
- pedagogical staff hired for projects financed under the "Early Childhood Education and Care " procedure;
- youth workers employed under projects funded under the procedures "Youth Centres: A Powerful Factor for Local Development" and “Establishing youth centres";
- Roma educational mediators employed under projects funded under the procedures "Early Childhood Education and Care" procedure, "Youth Centres: A Powerful Factor for Local Development" and "Establishing youth centres" and “Integrated measures for supporting the Roma inclusion”;
- municipal officials involved in the implementation of projects funded under the procedures "Early Childhood Education and Care" and “Integrated measures for supporting the Roma inclusion”;
- lecturers in pedagogical faculties, indicated by the project partner;
- trainers of youth workers, Roma educational mediators, teachers (training of trainers)
The project will be implemented by the Center for Educational Integration of Children and Students from Ethnic Minorities in partnership with Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"
The funding allocated to this procedure is up to EUR 487 628. The deadline for application is June 30, 2021.
