On May 30, 2023, the municipality of Pernik, in its capacity as a beneficiary under project BGLD-3.002-0010 "Integrated measures to improve the inclusion of people living in marginalized communities", held a public discussion on the topic "Good practices in the provision of integrated social and health services'. The main goal of the project is, through effective integrated approaches, to create sustainable mechanisms for improving the condition and opportunities of people living in marginalized Roma communities. The progress of the project and the specific implemented activities were also presented. The room where the discussion took place is to be equipped and will be designated as an event and training center. The Center for provision of integrated social and health services, which is located in the "Moshino" district on "Mladen Stoyanov" street, is also in the process of finishing works.
The center will have a multidisciplinary team that will provide free integrated social and health services - psychological and legal counseling, social mediation, medical examinations, support for employment and quality education, capacity building and creation of a sustainable coordination mechanism for cooperation and others . As part of the project, a new playground is being built between Cherkovna Street, Gradishte Street and Daga Street.
The first automatic external defibrillator was installed on the ground floor of the Pernik Municipality building. The purpose of the defibrillator is that, in an event of an accident, rapid action can be taken by visitors, together with the help of specially trained personnel, who can react promptly. Two more devices are to be placed in other places in the city. The mobile medical office has already been purchased to provide integrated social and health services in the community. It will enable mobile screening by various health professionals in targeted communities.
