On July 5, 2023, in the House of Arts at the Museum Complex - Bansko, an opening press conference was held under project BGLD-1.007-0030 "Design of a Museum of the Mountain and the People, with exhibition of local traditional crafts"", with the beneficiary Municipality of Bansko and partners Bansko museum complex and a non-profit association for the implementation of community service activities for parents and children with intellectual and physical disabilities. The event was opened by Mr. Ivan Kadev, mayor of Bansko municipality. The main goal is to create jobs, integrate people from vulnerable groups, increase the competitiveness of individuals on the labor market and present Bansko as a unique symbiosis of natural and cultural-historical resources. A Museum of the Mountain and the People will be created, where visitors will be able to touch Pirin Mountain, a huge model of which will be located under a glass floor. Interactive experiences for the visitors are provided - a virtual walk, 2D and 3D technologies, multimedia projections, interactive elements, sound and light. There will be a permanent exhibition where visitors can touch the preserved local crafts. It will provide an opportunity for local carpenters and other producers to return to traditional crafts, whose items can be sold on the local market. 5 employees have already been appointed to the project, and training will be provided to the newly appointed staff to acquire skills and knowledge to work in the specific cultural environment, to acquire knowledge and communication skills in English, presentation and communication skills. The newly appointed persons will be mentored by two mentors - professional employees of the museum. The deadline for the project proposal is April 30, 2023.
