On July 18, 2022, the Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa held an opening press conference on the project "Establishment of a Community complex (hub) for early child development and parental support "Peony" in the town of Gorna Oryahovitsa, the village of Varbitsa and the village of Draganovo". The mail goal of the project is to increase the quality of life, social inclusion and early childhood development, through support for the creation and implementation of a Community Complex (hub) of functional services for children from vulnerable groups, including Roma communities. A minimum of 320 children aged 0 to 6 years from minority backgrounds and their parents will be covered by the project's activities. Parents and children will receive a complex service - improving access to health care, forming parenting skills, improving the family environment, increasing children's school readiness for inclusion in the educational system. The aim is to limit the transmission of poverty between generations. The complex integrated measures are aimed at improving access to education, protecting health and developing social skills for children aged 0 to 6 years who do not attend and do not have access to kindergarten or crèche, live in isolated poor areas with a concentration of problems creating a risk of poverty and social exclusion. In addition to the head of the complex, the project also plans to have a social worker, a psychologist, a teacher, an educational mediator, and a medical person.
