On 08.06.2023, an opening press conference was held on the project "Stimulating economic activity and creating employment in the municipality of Elena by applying innovative approaches". The general goal of the project is to stimulate economic activity and create jobs (employment) in Municipality of Elena by applying innovative approaches.
The specific goals of the project are:
- Activation of the (long-term) inactive unemployed;
- Stimulating employment and increasing the competitiveness of local businesses, entrepreneurs and local authorities by introducing innovative work practices (evidence-based organizational practices that enable employers and employees at all levels to use and develop their skills, knowledge, experience and creativity to the greatest extent possible while improving performance, engagement and well-being);
- Improving the capacity of local employers to initiate innovative approaches in business development and employment, to encourage employers to adopt flexible working practices (part-time, telecommuting, total work week calculation, job sharing, compensation of hours worked, work reported according to achieved results, etc.);
- Training for the unemployed (long-term unemployed, elderly people of pre-retirement age, young people, young mothers, single parents, people with disabilities, low-skilled persons, including representatives of Roma and Turkish minorities) in order to meet the requirements of local employers, to develop skills such as entrepreneurship, presentation skills, CV and cover letter writing, improving digital skills;
- Organizing meetings between employers and jobseekers and creating job opportunities for disadvantaged people (long-term unemployed, elderly people of pre-retirement age, young people, young mothers, single parents, people with disabilities, low-skilled persons, including representatives of Roma and Turkish minorities), provision of accessible information on job vacancies.;
- Reduction of migration for economic reasons;
- Creating opportunities to support start-up businesses in the municipality of Elena;
- Increasing the share of economically active persons in the territory of the municipality of Elena;
- Expansion of opportunities for direct sales and marketing of traditional local products and services;
- Creation and enforcement of the " The Electronic Exchange of Traditional Products and Services from the Elenian Balkans" among the leading tools for direct sales.
The total value of the project is BGN 390,837.36 and the final date for implementation is April 30, 2024.
